Ladies Introduction to Salmon Fishing
Throughout the month of April 2026 we are offering the opportunity for Ladies to try Salmon Fishing on Saturdays.
You can book as an individual lady, a couple of lady friends that want to try to learn Salmon Fishing together or maybe a group of four ladies who would like to celebrate an occasion – e.g a birthday treat, anniversary, upcoming wedding etc.
All fishing equipment will be supplied, all you need to bring is a waterproof jacket, hat/cap, sunglasses, suncream and a packed lunch.
If you are already a group of four then we can book a date to suit you (any day of the week except Sundays).
The Itinerary for your day is as follows:
8.30-8.45am
Everyone to meet at the fishing hut for tea and coffee and to become acquainted with your fellow fisher ladies in the group
9:00am
Safety briefing and a short introduction to the life cycle of a Salmon
9.30am
Getting familiarised with the equipment you will be using during the day and discussion about the different techniques available for Salmon fishing.
10.00am
We will then setup the rods in readiness for your fishing experience. You will be kitted out with your waders and life jackets. We will make our way to the river for a reminder of the safety briefing and operation of the life jackets follow by a spey casting demonstration.
A volunteer or elected member of the team will carry out the first cast of the day under the close guidance of your instructor. After a few casts, with the rest of group looking on, you will be left for a short period to practice your casting, whilst the second, third and fourth members of the group are started off in a similar manner.
Your guide will be keeping a watchful eye on the group and will be available to individually offer help and advice where necessary.

Fishing stops for lunch back in the beat hut.
2:00pm
An afternoon of fishing with your instructor giving further one to one instruction and help. The afternoon will be in a different pool on the beat. Although catches cannot ever by guaranteed, we will endeavour to make your experience an enjoyable and educational one in the beautiful backdrop of Scottish scenery at its best.
